Flo Cycling Carbon Vote Results and Interbike Update
We wanted to update you all on a couple things.
1. We hosted a carbon vote and the results are in.
1st place: 3K with 248 Votes
2nd place: UD with 190 Votes
3rd place: 12K with 66 Votes
So what does this mean? We plan on using a 3K weave as our primary carbon. We are actively working on a way to also provide UD and 12k wheels on a special order basis. Special order details will follow when we have more information.
2. Interbike went extremely well. We met with numerous manufacturers and will be selecting our best partners in the near future. As it currently stands, we are still on schedule for first quarter 2011 sales.
Let us know if you have any questions or comments.
All the best,
Jon Thornham

Flo Cycling Visits with Steve Fleck from Nineteen Wetsuits
During our visit to Interbike, we stopped into the Nineteen Wetsuit booth. We spoke with their Sales and Marketing Manager, Steve Fleck. I've always been a fan of Nineteen Wetsuits. My personal favorite is the Frequency. I had a chance to demo the Frequency last season and was blown away by how flexible and comfortable the suit is. The WingSpan System does an incredible job of eliminating resistance in the shoulder area and encouraging proper body roll. If you are in the market for a wetsuit, Nineteen Wetsuits are definitely a brand you should consider.
To learn more about Nineteen Wetsuits visit there website www.nineteenwetsuits.com and watch our video below to see Steve talk about the 2011 Frequency.

This is an interesting bike that QR is working on. Check out the asymmetrical down tube designed to divert the air to the side with the missing seat stay. I'd love to see this modeled in a CFD program.

Flo Cycling Launches Teaser Site - www.flocycling.com |
Nine months have passed since I wrote on slowtwitch.com about my brother (Jon Thornham) and I starting an aero wheel company (see link below). Today we want to update you with some very exciting news. Our wheel designs are complete, our materials are selected, and our pricing is in line. If all goes as planned, Flo Cycling will be a reality very soon!
We plan to offer carbon fiber race wheels in 60mm and 90mm depths, along with a lenticular disc. If our meetings at Interbike go as planned, we hope to bring our wheels to market in the first quarter of 2011.
Exact pricing details are not yet available. However, we can say our price range will be in line with our original post.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or suggestions. We want to know what you think. We hope to get your input along the way with aesthetics, graphics, type of carbon weave, etc. Take a minute to visit our teaser site where you can register for email updates or send us a message. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Blogger, and Twitter.
Thank you for your interest and support,
Chris Thornham
